Activities
Jackson County has a lot to offer when it comes to year-round activities.
There are events such as Tennessee's Original
Poke Sallet Festival in May,
the
Granville Heritage Day, also in May,
Therolds Little Opry every month for some of the best Bluegrass around and much, much more.
Please check out the "Calendar of Events" on this site.
These activities are great fun that the whole family can enjoy. Once you attend, you'll be back year after year.
While you're in Gainesboro visit our independently owned shops, which include everything from Antiques, two Old Fashion Drug Store Soda Fountains, to a Boutique.
And please make it a point visit the Chamber of Commerce and the Veterans Hall and Archives.
Ten miles down the road is Granville. Way too much to mention here but you can visit their website by clicking

Nature
For nature lovers, there's no better place than Jackson County.
Jackson County has some of the finest flora and fauna in the state as well as some very unique features such as
the oldest and largest stand of native Chestnut trees in the country, a major impact crater,
a natural bridge and "The Boils" where a portion of The Roaring River resurfaces after going underground to name just a few.
Since we just can't list everything here you'll just have to come and have fun discovering it all for yourself.
Visit the Cordell Hull WMA, Cummins Falls State Park, Roaring River Park, Salt Lick Creek Park, or Wartrace Creek Recreational Area.
All of this combines to make Jackson County
"The Natural place to be"
